Hi everyone,
My son, Justin, was adopted from Ukraine in 2001. The translator, Ruslan, that I
met there was excellent. After Justin and I were home in the United States for a
few months, I emailed Ruslan and asked him to look for my son’s birth family. He
was able to find them, meet with them, give them a letter from me (that he
translated), provide me their full names, addresses, phone numbers, history and
circumstances of the birth, medical information, hobbies, etc. and get pictures
for me of Justin’s birth mother, birth father, grandmother, and siblings.
Ruslan was considerate of the birth mother and located her with only her
understanding why he was searching for her.
I have remained completely anonymous with the birth family, by my choice.
Ruslan has also acted as the intermediary in correspondence (letters and
pictures) between the birth family and myself.
Being adopted myself, I felt this was very important for me to do for Justin.
Since then, Ruslan has helped more families find their birth families, including
the one that was written about in the Newsweek article.
Please write us about the adoption of your child, if the birth parents of your
child are from Ukraine, Russia, Belarus or Kazakhstan and maybe we can help you
too.
Such information has been a treasure and is priceless. One day it will give the
answers to important questions for Justin and bring peace to his mind.
